An Adventurous Vacation in New Zealand (Pets Included)

Cheerful, curious and very active, beagles are love the company of humans and other pets. They are very friendly and tend to run around and bark a lot simply because they want to play and enjoy exploring outside. With his floppy ears, lovely eyes and smooth coat, the beagle is one of the cutest dog breeds. My love for beagles began when I was about 6 years old. This was the time when we moved into a bigger house because my mom was pregnant with my brother. Our new neighbours had a son called Jimmy who was around my age and he had this cute little beagle who was running around in their yard, barking and playing around. I remember that I was so fascinated with the dog that I begged my dad to let me go play with him.

After three days of constantly bothering my father to let me play with the beagle he finally gave in and went to our neighbours’ house to ask them if I can play a bit with their dog. So, that afternoon I was running around with the beagle giving him treats and giggling at how clumsy he was since he has just learned how to walk properly. Jimmy soon joined us and now that I have flashbacks of that day I can honestly say it bring me so many wonderful memories. Jimmy and I soon became friends and enjoyed spending time together playing with his dog, going to school and riding out bicycles in the park. Fast forward to today and Jimmy is my fiancée and we recently moved into our first house. Our fascination with beagles hasn’t faded one bit, in fact it has gotten stronger over the years. As soon as we settled in out new home we derided to get not one but three little beagles. They do require a a lot of care and attention but we simply enjoy taking care of them, that is not difficult at all.

Last month we decided to go on a little vacation to New Zealand with the dogs, of course. We’ve never travelled with pets before, so we knew we had to put extra effort to get everything ready for the vacation. We couldn’t pack properly with all the dogs running around and jumping on the bed, so we figured it would be best to find a reputable company that provides pet accommodation services where we can leave the dogs while we get ready for the vacation. We want the best for out sweet beagles so we started looking for boarding facilities that provide excellent conditions for pet accommodations like plush bedding and play areas. We wanted them to enjoy their stay there, while Jimmy and I can pack the bags without being disturbed by their games and barking.

After we found a great boarding facility that provided everything we were looking for it was time to learn more about the lures about travelling with pets. We found out that all pets leaving Australia must be examined by an accredited veterinarian. Also we needed to obtain pet passports for the dogs. The passport has to be signed by the veterinarian and contains essential information about the pet including his chip or tattoo number and the certification for a rabies vaccination. We prepared all the documents and booked the tickets and the last few days before the vacation we made a list of all the places we want to see in New Zealand. The day before the flight we left the beagles at the pet accommodation facility, packed our bags and made one last check about the exact time of departure of our flight. The next day we arrived at the airport and the stuff form the pet accommodation company has already brought out dogs there. So, we were ready to begin our adventure into the untamed beauty of New Zealand.
