A Trip to Egypt Feels like a Magic Carpet Ride & Here’s Why

Travel is my therapy. It really is, so whenever I have the chance to go somewhere, I pick some new and fancy place or even better, a new country. When I travel, I find new things about myself, and somehow, travel makes me forget about all my problems. It takes off my shoulder all the troubles and makes me feel stronger. For my recent birthday, my husband gave me a gift I’d wanted since I was a student – to visit Egypt. I’ve always been obsessed with Egypt and even though we’ve traveled a lot before we got married, we never had the chance to visit Egypt, so this was a perfect time. Long before my birthday, he found a travel agency that had the best Egypt tours, so the only thing he was waiting for was my birthday. He gave me the Egypt tours offers and allowed me to pick the tour I wanted the most. And that’s how it happened, my very first trip to Egypt (sighs). Have a look at my list of reasons why you should book a trip to Egypt.

The Pyramids of Giza

Of course that the first thing I wanted to visit was the pyramids. This is the initial draw for many tourists to Egypt and the only thing you can hear when you pronounce Egypt. And let me tell you, they look spectacular. It is a feeling that cannot be described, it must be felt. The Great Pyramid of Giza which in fact is the largest and the oldest one, is one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World” still standing.

Meet the Great Sphinx of Giza

Located near the pyramids, the Great Sphinx is the second thing you should not miss when in Egypt. This is the oldest known monumental sculpture, a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx which is a mythical creature with a human head and lion body. This really is a must-see place in Egypt as the place itself and the views are spectacular.

Try the Delicious Egyptian Cuisine

If you are a gourmet person like me, do not miss to try some of the many exquisite Egyptian food specialties. I have tried a lot of different food, and if I have to describe it with one word, that would be – delicious. Some of the many things I loved: lamb kebab, the tasty baba ghannoug, dolma, kofta, shawarma. Mmmmm mouth-watering!

Explore Temples

Temples are just another reason why I wanted to visit Egypt so badly. It gives you a feeling that you are traveling back in time while exploring the awe-inspiring ancient temples. They are filled with interesting things, amazing paintings, carvings, and so on.

When you need a break from the heat, you can always go to the beach and hit the breathtaking red sea. Well, these are just some of the many things you can see and visit in Egypt. There are many more, and I’m sad because we didn’t have enough time to visit more, which is why Egypt part 2 tour is on my mind again (chuckles).
